6KU Road Bike Retrofit
My second 6KU. Actually bought this first. I know I'm ehh, older but I really really hate the taped handlebars with taped brake line under the taped tape sigh. And it's so much cleaner you know? I could put a nos cannondale bag there or not. Wish I could have fitted downtube shifters but the only custom one I could find for the larger size tubing looked wonky. Went with stem Suntour shifters! I know! Done deal though. Anyway, Claris front and rear derailleurs, changed out the quill stem for 100mm and some vintage handlebars. Tourney brakes and a Brooks B17... Haven't had a chance to fully ride and test the gears. It does shift well though- just not sure of the range I'll get with the friction shifters.
