What to do?
Hi guys,
So I have an older mtb (khs six fifty 800) it's a 2014 model and I love the bike. I don't really want to part with it either. But here recently I have not been able to get to the trails. I have too many kids and most of the trails are too gnarly for them. So I have been riding on the road and it's not terrible but I know I could largely improve the bike. My front fork can lock to where it is rigid or back to normal. I'd like to take this bike and turn it into a road/commuter bike I was wanting full fenders, panniers, lights, and storage. Do you all think that this is doable ( not looking for a racer but looking to have a lot of road miles on the bike). also do I have to change the rims for street tires? And would I have to add a rigid road bike fork to add fenders? any other advice would be great as well.... |
Whatever size tires are on the bike - could probably find same size but with road tread or no tread tires that would be a first step. What size wheels/tires are on it now? Guessing from the name that they are 650B.
Does the frame have fittings for a rear rack/fenders? One source for fenders - and lights - is Planet Bike. https://www.planetbike.com/store/pro....html?___SID=U |
