What colour are your socks?

Okay, I set out on an easy task today, to purchase some white wicking socks to ride my bike. My errand turned into the "Search for Red October." I went to several different stores, including Cabelas and bike stores. All I want is some socks that go up "normal" height, not tennis shoe cut socks, nor knee high socks. I don't wan't orange, pink, purple, grey, brown, black, or socks with patterns - just white socks. Turns out this task isn't as easy as I thought; I came home empty handed. So I'm curious, what colour socks do you wear - wicking I presume?

I wear white socks, Dickies Dri-Tech comfort quarter work socks. They have a little grey in them but seem to fit what you are looking for.

White. Isn't there a department store near you that sells men's clothing? They'll have white socks. I buy mine at WalMart, JCPenny's, Dicks Sporting Goods, or other places. You can also order them online; try hanes.com. It sounds like you're making this task harder than it should be.

Gray no show socks, with a yellow “ safety” stripe, but then again they’re no show. So, you can’t see the safety stripe. Not what you’re looking for, but they’re comfortable!

Im a modern man, who wears black socks. All my socks match, theyre all black, because i do my own washing.

I don't wear different socks for cycling, because cycling is not a freak activity for freaks. Its kinda like walking or driving, but using a bicycle.

I have socks that are black, white, green, yellow, red, black/white.....I have lots of socks, I normally add socks or tubes to my online orders to get the total cost high enough to get free shipping.

Mostly (but not always) Hi-Vis yellow or orange, because most of my riding is my work commute with plenty of high speed traffic. I appreciate the effect of being seen, and seen as a cyclist. (the pedal action alerts drivers that I'm moving slower than motor traffic, even when I'm in the middle of the lane)

Wicking, yes. DeFeet Aireater, Sock Guy, or similar.

So I was Cosco and they had a bag full of white socks but there base ingredient was cotton and I don't want cotton socks. Every place I went to carried what I was after, and every one of the stores was out of them, I guess the riding season has drained the pool of white socks. Maybe I'll loosen the parameters of my deep search to include yellow....lol.

I have socks in many colors, red, green, black, white, etc.
It's boring to always wear white, isn't it?

Whatever color goes with the rest of my outfit.

If you think getting what you want is difficult maybe you should start your own business. You could call it the White Sock Guy.

Black Nike socks... slightly above the ankle for summer. I also have some black Under Armour socks for cooler weather that go half way up the calf.

Black, since they are often called upon to wipe chain grease (or some other filth) from my finger tips.

I have only black socks - I grab a pair without looking nor any concern over style or material. I have never spent more than seconds in shopping for socks. My motto is don't sweat the small stuff.

Style I couldn't care less about, but material? The second I tried something besides cotton socks, I have never gone back.

Camouflage when I'm feeling stealthy 90% of the time white ankle socks. I'm imprinted with that Baby Boomer mantra that all sport socks should be white, I always get a touch of that negative "sandles with socks" reaction when looking at colored socks coming out of my shoes.
