I'm surprised we're just now seeing this sort of experimentation.. traditional drive trains and derailleurs have been at the forefront for so long; but with good reason. I'd be more excited if was a fully functioning bike, however this system definitely looks promising.. and expensive!

I like it. But doubt will ever own. I don't need a bike that's WAY more efficient than I am with my 2 1/2 watts

if the common road grime, hair, & debris doesnt destroy those bearings, or hang up the shifting... I'd give it a try ince it becomes affordable to obtain.
