That's a cool story (no, I'm not being facetious). Dunno why nobody had a phone to look up a veterinarian or get someone to come with a car though.

I'm not sure one could just call and have a car suddenly show up. Dog catcher?

I suppose we all have friends who do drive.

I find it pretty extraordinary that the dog would ride on someone's back like that. It must have been an extremely calm dog.

Although, injured animals can be odd. Some can get violent, others apparently realize that they need help, and will accept help from anything that isn't trying to kill them.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about.

I don't think it's such a mystery. The dog looks very young in the photograph. If it was an older dog, it probably would not have been so trusting.

Wow, to not only be rescued, but also have found a home and someone willing to foot his operation bills within the same day.. doggie lottery indeed. It took me way to long to realize his rear legs were in his back jersey pockets.. if that's not the best use for them I've ever seen, I'm not sure what is..

I've gotta be honest I think that's the biggest load of BS fake news I've seen for a while

That's not said to be antagonistic but the story just doesn't stack up and if the dog was injured I can't see how on earth he'd get into that position on the riders back and stayed there as they bumped along which would inevitably cause the dog pain .. years ago I tried to help a dog that had been hit by a car and was trying to get him out of the road and he bit straight through the bit of skin between my thumb and forefinger simply because me trying to move him probably caused him excruciating pain ... a motorist with a blanket stopped and we managed to slide the dog onto the blanket to be able to lift him into a car to take him to the vets.

I'd so love to be proved wrong and this be a genuine story but my BS detector went off the scale about someone trying to create a viral story for some publicity / internet hits for themselves.
