Are these signs of a bonk ?

hello, I just wanted to ask if the symptoms Iím facing are symptoms of a bonk (liver and glycogen deleption) After exercise my muscles in my legs thighs and gastrocnemius muscle is extremely weak, like it does not have the strength to keep me standing upright. My body is very weak and my head is extremely light. Ive been experiencing slight shaking and sweating and eye floaters which is constantly there.

Can anyone advice what it could be? Nutrition etc

many thanks for your time

The symptoms of bonking are the same as symptoms of hypoglycemia ...

Have a look:

To recover from a bonk follow the tips here:

Could be heat exhaustion, dehydration, energy depletion ... in any case i'd say you are not listening to your body. As I understand it, the idea is to exercise toward your limits, not past them.

Could also be heart issues ... I had similar symptoms when I worked out too hard ... eventually ended up in emergency surgery.

Do the online research, and if you can, see a doctor about your health and ask about your exercise program (if you are serious.)

I put a ton of unnecessary strain on my heart because I wanted to tough it out like a macho-boy,. I nearly killed myself, proving how tough I was. Now I prove how smart I am and stay withing my limits,.. I grow faster when I don't overdo it.

Your mileage may vary.

How often has this happened? How long were you riding?

If this has happened more than once, you really need to talk to a doctor.

Sounds like it to me.

If, in addition, you find yourself eating a donut with each hand and looking hungrily at the family dog - that's it.

If this sets in over the span of a few minutes late into a long ride, and if eating+resting causes the symptoms to go away in 20-40 minutes, then there's a good chance that it's a bonk. Eating more before and during long exercise, and perhaps even taking stopped eating breaks during long exercise, should help if that's the issue.

If the above description doesn't fit what you're experiencing fairly closely, go see a doctor.

Drink water until you're urinating clear, always; 10g's of carbs/kilo of body weight/day. Repeat until you become superhuman!

I figure if this poster were serious he would A.) visit a real med-oriented site where he might find valid information, and then B) See a Freaking Doctor.

people who ask for serious medical advice from random strangers are either due to be Darwinned out, or trolling.

Seriously ... is there anyone here who thought he or she might have a Serious health issue, who would ask ten randomly chosen,semi-self-selected, anonymous people for advice?

Particularly as I would be apt to give the wrong advice just to see if s/he took it.

I note s/he has not bothered responding .....

another symptom of bonk is posting threads online and not remembering you did.

I dunno, maybe people with 2 posts should not be starting threads anyway.

But I would be OK with them posting pics, I'm sure about the rationale for that.

Seems like there's someone starting a bunch of these trolling, or borderline-trolling threads.
