Thought I’d found the CO2 mother lode

I’m sure you all see some strange stuff on the roadside but this was pretty high up on the weird-o-meter. Initially I figured it was a whole bunch of CO2 cartridges and then I saw the boxes. Probably a funny story there.

Someone probably forgot to unscrew that cap on their Presta valves before inflating.

Didn't even need to scroll-- as soon as I saw the red carts I thought, whippets.

Were they all used? If so, there are a couple of people that don't remember any party even happening.

I think you mean N2O. You would have a really bad day after huffing NO2 .

I am not familiar with whippets but based on the box it would appear they have some kind of edible cream used as an erotic aid as opposed to getting high.

Wow, "hippy crack"... What ever schmuck bought that at a sex shop paid a premium. A fool and their money, right?

Canned whip cream is charged with Nitrous Oxide, or at least used to be. Those cartridges could be marketed that way to evade drug laws/regs or scrutiny. "They aren't for getting high. They are for dispensing whipped cream on a body and then licking it off." In my home there was a long standing head shop. At one point, in the face of growing pressure on businesses that sold "drug paraphernalia," they would turn you away if you said you were looking for a bong or whippets. You had to ask for a water pipe or nitrous oxide.

Looks like you found a nest of them. Don't disturb them or the mother will reject them when she comes back.

No they didn't, they lost all their compressed gas. Maybe they had a good time by just pouring cream on each other.

Sounds like every gas station by me that sells tiny plastic bags, obviously for coin or jewelry use only

Couldn't tell from the photos thought they were used/empty

Bikes: Bikes??? Thought this was social media?!?

Time to 'roll on past the roadside garbage',
unless you are a good sam,
or paid to clean It, or inventory/classify it.

Walmart sells unthreaded CO2 cartridges very affordably in a 3X3X5 box..

Interesting that a similar pic is in a Wikipedia article about Whipped-cream charger

I've never seen a pile of them like that laying around. I've occasionally seen a bunch of spent shotgun shells laying around next to their boxes like that in odd places. So I guess different people get their jollies different ways.

Just to be clear, they are all spent? Otherwise, what would be the harm in using N20 in your tires. Or does butyl rubber and/or latex not like exposure to Nitrous Oxide? To early for me to look that up. Hadn't had my coffee and some quick searches didn't say and others where too technical for my grade level.
