Drop bar grips
Anyone try using ESI racer foam or something similar for slipping onto road bars? I know tape is the general thing to use but would like to try something different.
anything thats cut to length for silicone grips?

If it is comfort I am seeking I go with Fizik (or similar bar gel) underneath some Lizard Skins 3.2 DSP tape of course on a bar with a flat top section like my favorite the ZIPP Service Course SL-70 Ergo or if I really really need more I would double tape but I haven't needed more than that.
The only time I might put grips on a drop bar is for track racing and even then I probably wouldn't but then again I don't race track and I am certainly not anywhere near good enough to race Japanese Keirin in which they do use grips vs. tape.

it is not for racing, it is for preference that I choose to not use tape as a first option.
*If I were racing, I'd not ask & just ride without any dressings as adding anything would impede racing with the additional weight.

You could go old school.

I always use rubbing alcohol to put my grips on. It evaporates very quickly. If you really want them to stay once they are on, use hair gel. It will stick when it dries.
