I love mine brim down riding into the sun, brim up, and brim behind to protect the neck a bit.

All the helmets on BikePretty are just ******. Sure, they're anchor-heavy and look like what people wear to do horsey-jumpy, but they're several orders of magnitude less awkward than what we have as typical cycling helmets.

That egregiously overpriced rack box (BucaBoot) is as awesome as it is expensive.

It also depends on the helmet. My Specialized sits a little lower on my forehead than my Lazer, so that makes a big difference when I wear a cap with the brim forward. In summer I usually wear one backwards to keep the sun off my neck.

Cycling caps predate helmets, so what I wrote is simply a description.
In my case, I've ridden an estimated 200,000 kms in the last 25 years. Less than 50,000 of them with a helmet, and I'm still alive.

I don't have these problems and I am a cap addict. I have bought a lot of caps and at least under my Lazer Z1 and Giro Synthe I don't/didn't have issues with the helmet being too far back. It is awkward on my Lazer MTB helmet but that has a stupid visor that gets in the way. I have used cotton and tech fabric ones from various makers and no issues with any of them though I will say the Paul one I have is a bit smaller than I would like for my head size and another one from a local women's team and awesome vegan bakery is a bit small but I have a larger head then probably those who would generally be wearing it in a more official capacity.

Interesting because when I flip up the bill of my Headsweat cap it pushes back my Giro Synthe a little bit.

Not that big of a deal and I forget it is there as soon as I warm up.

I'm starting to like wearing them more, especially for gravel and if it is going to rain.

Cycling caps are the quintessential bike accessory; however, where I live it's too hot and humid to wear them most of the year. I wear one under my helmet with brim up on cool Fall days though. In winter I opt for a wool cycling cap with a bill. When I worked in shops in the 1970's I acquired quite the collection but they are all gone now sad to say. I had some really excellent ones too.

Yeah, I think that some combinations of noggins, helmets and caps just don't work! You might find a short brimmed cap doesn't interfere with your vision, but I totally relate to your experience.

I love my caps. To me its just makes the helmet feel better, I wear my hair very short. I always wear my cap visor up, shades on. Plus it saves bringing a cap along if i decide to stop for an adult beverage on the way home.

Just discovered the caps. And I love them now. No more sun behind the glasses.

Ordered one of these for summer riding.. we'll see how well it works out I guess. Unfortunately it only comes in white, due to the misconception that "SPF" protecting lightweight clothing has to be white.

I think it depends on the helmet as much as the shape of the head. My Kask sits really low in the front, so all it wants to do is push the brim of the cap down. My old Smith was somewhat more cap friendly.

I have a selection of cycling caps because for the mountain ascents, the helmet gets strapped under the saddle. No point in wearing it when my average ascent speed is about 8mph. Cycling cap on the way up, helmet on the way down.

I ride with a cap every time I ride, I find that when I don’t it’s absurdly bright. I just got used to the shade, and I rode with regular glasses on about 9/10 of my rides so it helps.
