At least it will make a good opportunity for one of those catchy headstone phrases...

Jarrettsin 08-05-18 03:24 AM

:foo: How do you even get in that position? :popcorn

Patriot1 08-05-18 04:51 AM

I’d really be impressed if you did it without holding on the handle bars...please practice :roflmao2:

Looks better than the way everyone does it today. I have no idea how anyone can ride like this.

I still use this position.

Aparrently Sagan & Gilbert were both using that position before they crashed this year. It works well until it doesn’t.

Feet on the bars with head at the rear is much more aerodynamic ...and safer! :D

I prefer the Silver Surfer position.

Also the Wonder Woman Transformation Twirl seems to have excellent defensive possibilities.

Yes. We've all seen the video. You are late to the party.

I hope that rear fender is well-reinforced. Or failing that, the front of his underwear. I strongly suspect booze was involved in this stunt.

nasabiker 08-07-18 09:36 AM

gaahhhh! rriding a bike is too simple I suppose so you have to make it complicated.

I think the harder part is getting out of it without bouncing.

livedarklions 08-07-18 10:19 AM

You won?t believe how much quicker you go in the Superman position on a bike! | The Bike Comes First

Rollie Free's famous 1948 Bonneville Land Speed Record run, on the even more notorious Vincent Black Shadow. The HRD design 1000cc V twin engine was tuned at the factory to run on nitromethane. Philip Vincent later reproduced a small run of special motorcycles in a similar state of tune known as Black Lightnings, very rare today.

No booze involved, but an extreme dose of the hatred Rollie Free had for Harley Davidson drove the decision to make the run almost naked and in as much of an "aero" position possible. Blew Harley 137 mph record away by topping 150, both ways on the lake bed.

Where the hell is Rydabent when you need him?

On a recumbent, that's just called "rolling over".

I didn't know any of this but I can really get behind that level of hatred for Harley.

jefnvk 08-09-18 09:20 PM
