How do you react to wet leaves on tarmac?

SEMI THREADJACK WARNING:
Don’t you just hate it when the leaves get all stuck to your tires and you gotta listen to the fwip-fwip-fwip-fwip-fwip with the tire rotations? I had to peel a handful off my front tire this morning before rolling through the entrance because they wouldn’t fall off after a block and a half.

If it were just a few yards of leaves that were unavoidable, I'd dismount. Before I began running studded snow tire in the winter, when I would encounter curb-to-curb ice that I couldn't find a dry line through, I'd dismount and walk. It feels funny to do so, but it's not as awkward as falling.
The other thing I do if I think I will encounter a stretch with a slip hazard, is to unclip a foot from a pedal (usually my left) or both in hopes of catching myself if a tire, or both loose traction.
When in doubt follow the old "bank heist" strategy: "No sudden moves, and nobody gets hurt!"

It is important to do whatever you do with conviction: Brake hard, turn hard, like you mean it. Wet leaves respect that.

I ride around them. Several years ago I was just getting over a crash where I broke an arm and several other important bits. The first big ride after being off the bike was on a rainy day, unusual for So Cal, but there were big sycamore or maple (not a tree expert) leaves everywhere and it looked like they all had my name on them. No issues, but I tried to tread very lightly. They tell me a pine cone took me down on my big crash, I don't know, I was out cold.

Some wont like it when I point out that on a trike they are no problem. Could even be a little fun if you get a little sideways.
