What no cycling clothes?

I don't believe this is a cycling forum in which their STORE has no bike clothing at all especially bike caps (which I would buy immediately). Or even a decent quality affordable shorts and Jerseys.

I'd set one up, if Bike Forums added a big banner and nav menu linking to it.

Store? What store? Why are you looking for a store in a bike forum?

Cafe Press link is to a 3rd party company, that puts logos on stuff
they have in stock, blank,
for a large number of client companies,
they may only do the printing JIT, when you pay for it.
so don't sit on a lot of unsold merchandise..

I would just buy a couple BF water bottles and see how those worked out first.

No way I'm getting the BF skinsuit though, $400 is ridiculous, and I don't do many time trials these days. Hopefully they use a quality chamois in them or have a generous return policy.

Bike Forums used to sponsor a racing team, but it broke up in a fistfight over whether they should drink pickle juice.

So, a bunch of mostly cotton T's, mostly dark colors. All at pretty high prices.

Maybe a water bottle, but that looks like a pretty basic 26 oz cheap water bottle.

Get something worth buying. Specialized MOFLO (and they do custom logos), or Zefal Magnum.

If Marketing is important, then Bike Forums needs to spend a bit more time hunting for stuff that cyclists might buy. Perhaps a jersey? Or, I've gone to almost all synthetic T's in bright colors, some with reflective tape. SAFETY

Also small accessories. Bike lights, reflective triangles, etc. And, of course, spend some effort to research good quality accessories.

I'd also look at the logo. I'd probably be much more interested if it had a large bicycle image, and a small "BikeForums" text.

The half bicycle in a cartoon bubble is cute.

But, then minimize the text around it. Yes, I know this is in part advertising, but you get no advertising if nobody buys it.

Well, that and the small disagreement on which chain lube to use...

IN case you were wondering, chain lube and pickle juice do not make a good salad dressing. Trust me.

You don't use Olive Oil to lube your chain?

I thought it was the "to wave, or not to wave" question that pushed them over the edge.

Too plebian. Pure baby porpoise blubber is the only serious chain lube.

There's an "Electronic, Lights & Gadgets"

But other than that, nothing else. The shoes, clothing types, and everything else that fits on the rider may need to be put in place.

This way we do our own review of products like in the other forums here. It may not be as polished as what we get on the radar type sites, but at least we get to hear from the consumers...that's us.

I am sure the manufacturers would like to hear what consumers have to say about their products and this would be at least, one way without the manufacturer having to hire a marketing firm to get input.

They do. But they also still need the MF to get the specific details on consumer needs and preferences.

I've been notifying manufactures for years (via letters) on the quality of their products long before the internet came into popular use. In fact, I only ignore a survey when I know nothing about the product. Although, sometimes, that's actually the purpose of the survey.

NFS is the best chain lube out there. I settled that debate earlier this year.

Ahhh... I had heard it was a wonder hangover cure. So I had just assumed people were also using it as their latest sports energy drink.

As an energy drink, it will definitely get you as far as the Slauson Cutoff.

How do you get there? Let me tell you friends, how do you get there! You take the San Diego Freeway to the Ventura Freeway. You drive to the Slauson Cutoff, get out of your car, cut off your Slauson, get back in your car, then you drive six miles till you see the Giant Neon Vice-Squad Cop.

Mostly they want orders from dealers , buying bikes by the pallet load ..

often bikes get batch orders, made , depending on the Preseason orders at the trade shows ,

from big shops that can afford sending someone for a weekend in Vegas,
where the industry trade shows are (US) ...

then other shops around the country, get them from a smaller batch
and they sell out early...
