Post-ride cravings...
when it's cold, it's skanky cup o' noodles for the salt content. when it's hot, it's cut up chilled watermelon from the fridge. when it's every day-beer.

Pizza, burgers, or something crunchy---I might destroy an entire bag of chips.

Burgers, but of the good sit down restaurant varieties, aka non fast food.

I ate a ton of fried chicken riding across the country. Our little group often got chips and salsa for a snack before cooking dinner. Sometimes we would get a package of cream cheese to go with it. Put it in the center of one of the pot lids/frying pans and surround it with salsa. You needed a stiff base like Triscuits for that.

Cravings?
Cravings are the result of the emotions trying to rule over one's decision making. I make up my mind long before the decision must acted upon. I don't give in to cravings.
After riding, I eat normal food. Riding is a normal activity for me.

Whether I get a shower right away or not, I definitely want to get out of my cycling clothes. When I do organized events, so many people hang around eating at the end while wearing the clothes they just rode a metric or whatever in. The first thing I do is go to the car and change.

If it is a hot day, a cold beer. Not a whole bunch of them, just one. It is pretty damn tasty.

Depends on the length of the ride--after a century, I'll eat any protein that isn't currently moving, and drink a 12 pack of diet soda.

Stretching, then a shower are good thing after a ride, too. They're probably more important than snacking.

Funny you should say that--I got super hungry at the end of a century about 1 1/2 weeks ago, and stopped at McD's to try their "new" Quarter Pounder. Damned if it wasn't almost as bad as their old one.
And in case you think I'm a fast food snob, I love Wendy's.

I don't normally add salt to food, but after a strenuous ride, I always want salty foods. My preference is chips, salsa, guacamole, and a cold beer, but anything salty will suffice.

I accidentally ordered a "McGriddle" the other morning, because i was in a hurry and the picture looked good. Had no freakin' idea that it was bacon and eggs sandwiched between two tiny pancakes, that had already had "maple" syrup poured over them. I hate sugary sweet bacon, sausage, eggs, and cheese, who the hell ever thought that would taste good?

An ice cold bottle of San Pellegrino sparkling water to which I add about a tablespoon of Montmorency cherry concentrate. Oh man! .....then I start looking for the hard stuff, you know, left-over flank steak from the night before. I probably look like a tiger eating its kill.
