Compression socks..suggestions
Hi all,
Shattered my heel (non-biking) in May and have finally started walking and biking again. One problem is that the foot is about a size bigger due to swelling, and I am to expect this for about a year. Dr. suggested sport compression socks. The ones I have used for flying are super thin, and give me a lot of friction pain. Can anyone recommend a thicker type sock that works well with pedaling and walking, etc. ? Thanks! |
I used cep compression socks when dealing with done tendonitis/ soleus muscle issues. I would recommend them to anyone looking for compression.

Search Duluth Trading, compression socks. They work well and and are thicker. They come in 3 packs, pretty reasonable price.

When it comes to compression for sports, its 2xU, An Australian company.
I bought from them several times. Expensive but very good. https://www.2xu.com/us/compression.html |
Try Compressports. I have used 2XU as well, IME, Compressport beats them by a large margin in terms of compression.https://www.compressport.com/

Are you guys using your compression socks after your ride to help with recovery? How long are you wearing them for?
|
Actually, I don't use them for rides afterwards. Why? Because my rides are not like an "all-out", do-or-die effort. Not "in training", not even for the Leukemia & Lymphomia crowd.
What its good for is long jet travel like from Los Angeles to D.C. I got my first pair free compliments of a team. Second pair when the socks was redesigned and better. I took a peek at the compresssports site. I tried to find local dealers around in the U.S. Not many. A Swiss company. |
Check the AARP magazine advertisers .. it's a thing my, also, elders get. :50:

These are not the type of 'compression' socks sold in sporting goods stores. Buy online to get the best price. But they are EXPENSIVE!. |
