I already have some requirements so I will list them below to give you an idea:
  • Flashing lights need to be seen from all angles so all surrounding cars can be alerted of the bikes direction
  • Materials that are used need to be waterproof and easy to maintain and the whole product needs to be shockproof and put together with rustproof screws if they are needed
  • The handlebar lights can’t stick out too far but the indicator needs to be big enough so vehicles can see them from a distance
  • The indicator lights need to be amber so car drivers can instantly acknowledge them as indicators
  • The buttons or switches to indicate should be easily accessible so the cyclist can focus on the road
Please feel free to emphasize the importance of the requirements above too.

Thank you for your time!
These school design requests usually don't work on this forum. The project is often not specific enough, not practical, or is similar to existing products.

I didn't know what an "indicator" was, either.

In the USA, we rarely use that word, and I'd guess something like this. That's why there's all the indicator jokes in this thread.

We call it a "turn signal" instead.

I recall the term "trafficator" being used back in the 1950s. Some cars were still equipped with semaphore type indicators. When I first took my driver's test (in a DeSoto, BTW) I was required to use hand signals.

No, the OP is using this forum to research what the market wants in a product they are designing. That is all part of the work involved in the project.

Gee, I'm from the US and I have used it, and heard it use often. Maybe you are young or simply have not been around cars much.
