I was doing so well since a neck fracture a few years ago. This is my second of my more serious bike related injuries. I'm going for the first of two surgeries in a couple days. One to install a bar with some screws and the other to have the metal removed. Im just thankful I didnt plant my face or crack my skull. Spirits are up moods up and I'll be back to battle in a couple months.

Hows your injury count this summer? On the upside our summer is over and we only have a couple more weeks of nice weather left.

2017 was down 3 times, luckily all minors with no damage.

Nice going. I tore thumb tendons in 2016 right when the weather started getting nice, so I spent most of summer in a cast after surgery. Yea we heal slower as we get older thats for sure. This one smartened me up enough to quit smoking again. I give my woman credit for that too, so I better stick with it cause she stuck with me through so much already.

Did they offer you a choice of alloys? Titanium?

I spent nearly a month recovering from a bike crash in June. Cervical spine trauma, concussion, bouts of vertigo, mood distortion...it wasn't fun. Heal up.

Ankle broken in two places plus a bonus broken tarsel back in July, coming off a mountain bike. Plastered up until 3 weeks ago, in an orthopedic boot since. The good news is I saw the consultant on Monday, and I'm now good to get back on the bike. Bad news is it's for short gentle rides only, and flat pedals only for the next two months.

The good thing about clavicle is that sooner or later you are going to get a routine (or otherwise) chest X-ray and will get BF certified proof that it happened. I learned of one years after the fact, Now I messed my shoulder up so badly that real damage was no secret but I wasn't told I broke my collarbone (at least when I wasn't drugged up thoroughly).

I'm past the surgery part on recovery road my attitude changes so much so it almost made it feel easy. plus hearing ill be 100% after so long as i take good care of it. my brother had a similar procedure and he smokes like a chimney, his still aches. granted he also disintegrated about an inch of bone and it required permanent metal to keep it together. so far in my case the waiting and going one handed and righty to lefty sucks the most

I'm really not the type to bruise easily, I had less or none at all after harder motocross spills. Two days after surgery. Weird the one on my bicep didn't show up until after my surgery.

Good on you. My friend broke his left ankle in such a way after he was put back together he can no longer shift gears on motorbikes with his left foot. That might change later , for now thats the prognosis.

A couple of months ago I hit a patch of loose gravel while turning around on a MUP and even though I was going very slow I tumbled off the bike. Scraped my right shin on the platform pedal a bit. Just wish it hadn't happened in front of a group of grade school kids. I can still hear their shrill laughter.

Fortunately there was no damage to the bike!

GOOD LUCK and fast healing !!!!

10/10 will be 2 year anniversary of right shoulder replacement and doing well. Went down on right side a couple of months ago and thought some shake-up might have happened but not so. Had a little prostate cancer come back 5 months ago and the surgery affected riding a short time but full steam ahead again.

I dont care about bike rash so long as Im the one scratching it. The very fist day I brought this home someones kid tipped it over off the kickstand and crunched the fairing Luckily the bar weight absorbed most of it lol.

Todays visit gave me photo op so here you go, fresh ex-rays and the staples were removed. 8 screws plus a plate. I gotta say it looks pretty gnarly in there

Yeah I noticed the screw dissimilarity too. But I just figured the smaller ones must be finer threaded for tighter grip action
