I hate winter

I hate winter and late fall/early spring for that matter. Means the end to my evening rides which I so much enjoy. Looks like I may have done my last evening ride. Just not enough light now in the evenings to be safe on the roads. Just can't wait till spring gets here again.

I hate riding at night. I'm either too hot or can't stay warm. Hands always cold no matter what. Riding in snow is a huge hassle after cars have made tracks in it and then freezes after rain. Getting out of a warm bed while still tired and then heading out in the dark in single digit temps is a terrible shock to the body.

I hate winter too.

I was just thinking the same tonight. No more evening rides after dinner. Looks like I'll have to make time on the weekends...provided the weather co-operates.

I actually like winter, well, all the seasons. Two are too short and two are a tad too long. I'm retired so I can usually squeeze in some winter rides as long as the roads, are dry and temp at least 33F. We average about 5 ft. of snow each winter, but back in 2014 we had a beaut of a winter, nearly 100 inches of snow and the Great Lakes reached 95% ice over. Memorable winter.

That's why I love this time of year.
DST has started again (should be year round!).
The leaves are coming out on the trees.
Flowers are blooming.
And I can actually go outside without a jacket!!

Couldn’t agree more. Was wanting to ride this afternoon, but with 45 degrees and 15-20 mph winds, I was “talked” out of it. This, from somebody who used to play a bit of pond hockey and ice fishes. I think I’ve become a wimp and not enjoying the dropping temperatures as I get older. Maybe tomorrow as the temps are supposed to be a little warmer with less wind. I need to ride, but I don’t like the exercise bike indoors.

As a reminder that winter isn’t far off, I got to drive through a snow storm through the Rockies coming back from Utah on Sunday. Between Vail and Denver, we were able to sit still on the interstate watching the snow fly with the other “commuters” for awhile. I drive through snow each year, but I’m sure October is the earliest I’ve ever done it. Around here, it’s at least November before the roads get dicey.

I HATE WINTER!!

Too cold to ride, too much snow to be enjoyable, too much ice to be safe. Can't work in the garage, can't weld in the basement, can't stand it!

Time to get the rollers out and suffer that way.

Just added insulation in the walls so it'll be a productive winter.. also ran a sub panel to accommodate the welding needs when its too cold out & the insulation doesn't have a chance for keeping it warm.
Still hate winter. The salt is the worst of it all!

I will ride when it get's cold, but not quite as often as I would during the spring and summer months. I just don't like being cold. Even when I layer and bundle up I still feel uncomfortable. And there is no way I'm going to ride on a trainer in my garage.

I'm looking forward to the change of seasons. Variety is good. Comes with different challenges. Plus I can show off to all those cars stuck in traffic during a snow storm how I ride past them on my fat bike.

Can't wait for DST to end so we know what the real time should be.

I too hate cold weather. I simply dont ride when it is cold. I have to go to the gym and ride the boring recumbent bikes. They have TV above them but it is still boring, and I have to force myself to go.

If I can work out my evil plan, I will make it so it is summer all year long in the northern hemisphere. Anyone have Lex Luther's email address?

I love cooler temps. Fall and winter is my favourite time of the year to ride...Once the snow falls and ice forms it becomes pure riding heaven, so much fun...I fail to understand the logic of people who put their bikes away into winter storage or people who use indoor trainers because they are afraid of the cold and they afraid to mess up their bikes.

I love all the seasons. I'm in the Southern USA so winter isn't to much misery and there are lots of winter days that the high is 50+F. I hate being cold, but can ride with the right clothing down to 40F.

Below that temperature, well, I've been recently convinced that an indoor rowing machine is a viable solution, considering that I absolutely abhor bicycle trainers and gyms.

The ultimate goal is, however, to RV myself according to the seasons, "Going where the climate suits my clothes."

I bought a recumbent exercise bike last year. Guess I need to get back on it.

this was probably the worse I've ridden in, mostly because of the wind and wind chill. along with it being a mix of snow ice and frozen slush. the Truck in the ditch was funny.
