Bob Jackson

I'm thinking of ordering a Bob Jackson in the near future. I'm interested in their quality as of the last couple of years. Any recent experience with them?

Can't remember if he hangsout in the General forum to see this or not, but @52telecaster has a nice Bob Jackson he recently built.

There are very few bike of any higher quality than Bob Jackson. Maybe Mercian but that could be a matter of taste.

Have you seen Donhou cycles (also British) or Chris Bishop just to name two that make some super high quality stuff. Not saying Bob and Mercian aren't of good quality and certainly have a solid history but I think plenty of other customer builders have them beat.

I have a whole garage full of bikes of high quality so I'm not in the market. And I haven't been able to sell but one bike in a year so I won't be looking anytime soon.

my idea on the setup of the bike was to shoot for the feel of an old Raleigh sports except with quality steel and derailleurs. It does that very well and when I feel the need to get aero I grab the hoods. Having said that, I have switched to drop bars recently. I'll take a pic later today when we go for a ride.

Kind of from above.

I'm looking at one of their off the peg frames. Anyone know how long they take to actually ship (they say 4 weeks), and are there actual geometry charts on their site somewhere that I missed? I need to know more than the seat tube length.

They are accurate about the time. On mine the top tube was just a hair undersquare.

Mine is from 2003. Same model, I think, but back then they used 531. It's a great bike, I think.

As it should be minus the not in the market part! I have a tough time selling but I did sell my old touring bike and am planning on selling a new one I built that doesn't fit me. However one can still lust after new stuff. Though I actually need to stop buying since I have so many projects going at once that I need to finish them ride them and then think about the next one ; )
