New Multisport Competition

I think we should crowdsource a new form of quadrathalon, and my contribution shall be specifying the major pieces of equipment, and I'll leave it up to others to specify the competitive activities and rules.

Equipment:
1) a bicycle
2) clipless tap shoes
3) a lasso
4) a snorkel

Excellent idea! I'm glad someone is willing to resurrect tap. It's a very underappreciated form of dance.

I imagine the snorkel being used to consume alcoholic beverages.

Yes!

Is the women's version the GIngerathalon? Doesn't have the biking overtones, though.

And once participants are half in the bag they move to the transition area and don the tap shoes for the kicking over of bikeshare bikes portion of the competition.

Fred Astair was very graceful. You never saw him perspire.

I'm more partial to Gene Kelly. He was more physical. Sometimes he poured sweat and you could see his leg muscles ripple and flex. He wasn't afraid to look like an athlete.

Maybe it becomes a team sport?

+1. Dude was strong. Always amazes me when I see clips of him dancing in high-waisted pants. Looks like it would be uncomfortable. Guess if you are built like he was it's not.

Not just strong, but incredibly precise--check this out, he dances with himself, which they did by filming him on the same set twice. Watch how closely synchronized those huge turns are--I'm not sure anyone else could ever have done this:

So, do you guys know what it means to "Tap dance" or "Do steps" on your bike?

Apparently those who can actually dance with both feet on the saddle are highly regarded...
