Just my 2c after 30 years of bike commuting. If you are using flat pedals without cages, going to cages or, even better, to clipless will make riding much much easier. For me I'd rather be on a mtb bike with clipless pedals than a lightweight road bike and flat pedals - it's that stark a difference. It'll take some getting used to but after a while it will seem like second nature and riding a flat pedal bike again will feel so inefficient. Cages though tend to beat up shoes where they rub so dedicated bike shoes are the better option. I prefer SPD style pedals & shoes, preferably ones that look like real shoes not flouro racing ones- that way if you need to stop in a store on the way home or grab a beer with friends you don't look like you've stepped off a podium.

Also, the proportions of a bike frame can vary a lot from brand to brand and model to model. Not all 56cm will fit the same. If you get the bike a the shop you got fitted at, they (often) will swap components like stems and seatposts, to adjust the bike to you, as part of the delivery set-up. With an online bike, that's all up to you.
^^^ Just to be clear. I am going to physically drive to the shop where I originally found the bike online > Adrenaline Bikes, which happen to be just a 150 miles out. They also sell the components as well which was my intention to get a better seat and maybe a neck extender and the owner will get me sized up.

So yes the same company I found the bike online is the same one I will ask to get me correctly sized.
