if the Nashbar site ends up selling house branded frames and forks for great prices, house branded components and tape for grest prices, good jersey prices and selection, etc etc etc then I bet a lot of people will be happy.
if the Nashbar site ends up selling nothing unique that can't be sourced at dozens of other sites for the same price or less, then I bet there won't be a bunch of enthusiasm.

Amain was a sponsor of our club century ride a few years ago when they got in to cycling.
They had some promotional stuff, & email flyers,
but prices were way less than exciting & I never bought anything.

Now if only Nashbar made quality bike shorts like they did back in 2005 or so. Best shorts I ever bought!
I doubt I'll see those days again.

The current site is a performance logo pasted onto the front end web server. The back end is AMain's database of products.
It is going to take a while for them to port the Performance and Nashbar product lines to the site.

Off topic but- In the past, I have had excellent service from Aerotech design products, especially the shorts. They tend to be well made and an excellent value.

Perhaps more of a healthy disrespect (or, disregard) for mediocrity, rather.
Plenty of uniquely-designed products out there. Plenty of custom or semi-custom (aka boutique) shops that have some interesting designs. Plenty of "big" makers that have the typical stuff the market seems to want. But a lot of the older-school designs and comparatively smaller brands have found it tough to continue competing against the "big" players.
Myself, I appreciate the earlier Nashbar, earlier Rocky Mountain, Bob Jackson and Roberts Cycles (and similar custom makers). Love to see Rodriguez doing okay, still. Love to see the market allowing many higher-end, costlier rigs in the mix. Love it that the early 1980s vintage relaxed-geometry MTB rigs are gaining appreciation for what's been lost. Etc.

So, what are some options when I need to find some "just okay" components for my beater bike? Nashbar was a solid source for me as I started riding, and I'm bummed to see them morph into the sites I always avoided. I think I agree with what seems to be the common sentiment in that if price and quality are about equal, I'll give my money to the LBS.

Just talked to a local bike shop. It looks like FUJI bicycles is still going strong. They are a little behind but should be back up to full speed soon. You can order bikes from them right now.

the great loss from performance/nashbar going under is their house brands, which were a great value and usually very well designed and manufactured. For example, i have some transit (performance) panniers that are good copies of ortliebs, at a fraction of the price. If the new owners continue developing house brands, then perhaps it won't such a loss to cyclists. Without the house brands, performance/nashbar will just be another website.

These are going to be sold in the US by a new company called BikeCo, but will still likely be built by Ideal. Given that BikeCo has no history, and will have no corporate ties to Performance/Nashbar/Amain, it may take a little time before it becomes apparent what is going to be marketed in the US under the Fuji label, and where it is going to be sold.

I've sadly deleted my quick links to Performance and Nashbar. Still regret not jumping on a leftover bike for my son, who needs a small frame. Enjoyed the little surprises like a blow out price on a favorite saddle, or whatever. I did get my Kestrel Di2, and Tread All-Road 105 bike from Nashbar. My sons' Fuji was a great buy from Performance. We got great service from our local Performance shop. And, I was a Trek snob for decades.
