Car's pretty solid electrically (significant rewiring) - the Leyland artisans in Coventry weren't really detail-orientated when it came to paint coverage, so rust is the thing to watch out for. Once they salt the roads in the winter, it's garage-bound until we've had a few good spring rains

half and half - the Subaru is the family car, the Triumph is my car. I drive it 3-4 times/week and usually take it if I don’t anticipate passengers or serious cargo. Like most cars of its vintage (70s), it’s pretty reliable if you keep up with the maintenance, and it’s certainly higher maintenance than a modern car, so the couple of months it’s laid up over winter is when I take care of stuff that modern cars just don’t need with the same regularity - adjusting carbs, valves, timing, greasing joints, adjusting bearings etc. It’s a hobby in that I like tinkering with it, but it’s also my usual mode of motorized transportation - it’s very much “a car”.
