Gopro/360 Camera for Cycling Photo/Video

Guys,

Do you ever photo/video yourself while cycling? Do you mind to share where you mount the 360 camera or Gopro and the outcome?

I have seen some nice footage with 360 camera. So awesome but have no idea where they mount it.

I saw a few of those and I think the camera was mounted on the top tube near the steerer.

Not a fan of 360 video due to the warping/distprtion and lower vid quality. For a normal GP I use a chest mounted gimbal because it adds stability and is more immersive than helmet or bike-mounted footage.

That video made me so happy!

I smiled the whole way through and even cringed and tried to steer my office chair over the rocks at 1:13 (yooo hooo!)

Love the way you didn't drown out the ride sounds with music.

Props on the mad skills too. Please post more of these.

Ive recently picked up an Insta360 One X and the quality has come a long way and the stabilization is better than a GoPro in most cases. The GoPro definitely has better quality but it doesnt have the 360 ability. I took this out today no color correction or anything.

This is cool! This was using normal chest strap?

Which kit is that video taken with (gimbal, chest strap, camera)?

The warping and distortion in 360 footage, as can be seen here where the footage is like looking at a fun house mirror, is a deal killer for me.When played back, it doesn't reflect(no pun intended) what I see when I'm riding.

taz777, afham07, I used a Hero7 Black, a Stuntman chest harness, and GoPro Karma Grip w/extension cable.

It's a safety feature, I guess. Would be nice if you had the option of turning it off. My Fly12 has no way of doing this, but the effect is not quite so pronounced.

You can actually punch in and flatten it out of you want. I just like that look.

Yeah like this video. So awesome. Is it the guy/you holding the 360 camera? I see the right hand is like holding something but not too noticable ..

Yeah hes holding it on a selfie stick. Most 360 cameras will "over-stitch" just a bit to get rid of any tripod/selfie stick.

This is great footage but not sustainable over a real ride. Your hand will get tired of holding the selfie stick over a long time not to mention the grip on your handlebars are lessened because of it.

The only place that makes sense for a 360 camera is helmet mounted on the top. That way you can get all angles and take advantage of its 360 ability.

Yeah, but no selfies with a helmet cam, other than looking down at your own legs (and junk). To solve that rather serious problem, maybe new bikes will start coming come with a "Selfie Stick Holder Mount". It could go right next to the disc brake mount.

I get that you're being facetious but...if your fork has rack mounts all you need is a 4mm bolt, GoPro stem cap adapter, and a rotated camera to do the selfie thing.
