41/2 Days of Rain

Been raining here for the past 41/2 days. Just let up. Pools of water in the backyard should go down in the next 48 hours as long as the rain stays away. Mosquitos are going to be a bummer crop this year. Ride time will soon begin. Hoping for a Sunday go.

We've had more rain here in Nebraska than the last 10 years. Our lake is completely full though, and that's pretty awesome!

I was up in Sioux Falls last week....they're still under flood warnings. AAMOF, they've been under flood warnings so long from so many rivers--they don't even flash warnings on local TV now for flooding. Whole time I was up there my phone was pinging with 8 different flood warnings in the area. Nothing on local TV.

Yeah the amount of water is crazy. I live on the 2nd biggest lake in the state, and it was very low from the past years. We would've had a lot worse flooding here, had it not been for the low lake. It's above full pool now, and slowly filling the the flood pool. The wildlife are loving it!

Oh, you're out there. Used to go out there semi-regularly. I remember a few years back when the lake was so low there was the party mid-lake. The pool level so low, the foundations of the old town surfaced.

Yep you could see some weird stuff out there. At one point you could almost walk all the way across the lake on the old highway out of Alma, that's under water.

Oregon Coast does that during the typical winter months, , but neither daily or continuously .

We're up there so far as rain goes also! Wondering what effect it will have on farmers who have been unable to get their crops in, or if they had already seeded, it's probably rotting from too much water. We buy hay locally, seems like it's been going up $-wise almost every year. Haven't call the farmer yet, but I'll bet his hay harvest is late, and more $/bale than last year! Just got back to my truck from a ride yesterday (5/2) before a t-storm broke lose. I can almost feel myself growing gills!

I think it has rained about 2 out of every 3 above freezing days since last August. I live in Upstate New York.

I live in the Ottawa area and cannot bike due to flooding. Good thing I got a little kayak too. xD

I can't believe the number of rainy days here in CT. In April we had 20 days of rain. It's killing my riding time. Really sucks.

April in Chicagoland was f%^&ing bummer. We had a fairly brutal winter (record cold, record days of precipitation) and now we've had:
1. Two major, historic snow storms in April, including one in very late April
2. Ridiculous amounts of rain. It will. Not. Stop. Raining. Epic levels of flooding. All retention ponds full. It's supposed to rain again Monday night. Gah.
3. Temperatures stubbornly below normal. Too many days with highs in the 40s. Too many mornings where it hits 29.

We have had some very nice days sprinkled here and there, but not many.

Then again, most of this is pretty normal for here. It gets nice around the third week in May every year and it's always shocking to me it takes that long. I need to move.
