Performance or Nashbar?
In the past I was subscribed to both Performance Bike and Bike Nashbar newsletters and shopped at both because they were fairly different companies.
But, now that they are both effectively the same, is there any reason to follow one over the other? I'm getting duplicate marketing emails that have the same content, save the header. Today the Nashbar email even advertised Performance bibs... Just curious what those who are still following these companies have done. |
I get the same emails from AMain too. Digital marketing is kind of important for online retailers, so I'm sure they will get it sorted out eventually.

Neither. I recommend that you unsubscribe from both. Don't let marketing and demand modulation control your behaviors. You can contact them when it's convenient and timely for you. It'll help to de-clutter your life, too.

After bankruptcy, the creditors own the company ..

I have Performance bike clothing. I could just order it online because I know how it fit. Every bike clothing manufacturer fits different to me. We had a Performance shop in San Antonio I would just go there and stock up on shorts, jerseys, gloves and so on. I guess that expanded too far they should have stayed an online only business.

I did the same. Unsubscribed. Was getting too many emails.... and frankly, their website blows. It's clear they are drop-shippers now.. not holding any real inventory, they order it for you.
A $12 shipping charge to get it in 2 weeks was unacceptable since it actually made the price higher than ordering it with Prime. I think they waive the shipping charge for orders over $99, but I really didn't want to buy something else to hit the magic number when I pretty much don't like their selection on anything. And the 2 weeks is a real turn-off in this day and age. |

Already in a debt for equity swap as it was...
I used Nashbar when Arnie Still ran the company and Performance in the paper catalog era.. .... |

.... AES was broken up in the bankruptcy sale into parts sold to different companies. |
Unsubscribe. If you want something check Jenson USA first.

I was all set to buy a shifter from Nashbar until I saw the shipping charges AND the long delivery time. Ended up being cheaper and faster from Amazon for the exact same part.

I like Jensen myself. But WorldWideCyclery got me a Lauf at a killer price a few years back.
There are a lot of retailers out there with good prices. |
I am in agreement on the unsubscribe option. They are in essence the same seller and they now suck! There are other and better options.

I miss Pricepoint, and Supergo !!!! :(

unsubscribed, pretty annoying getting 3 exact emails.

I don't support any of those company's anymore. I stick to Jenson and a few big sellers on $bay. Nashbar was good for certain things now they just plain stink IMO

i use to shop quite a bit at my local performance bike as well as online. really liked their selection and prices.
after they went bankrupt amain cycling purchased the performance bike & nashbar name, logos, websites, and customer lists. they are just a zombie brand now, amain cycling sucks big time. i've since unsubscribed from their emails as there are better options out there. |
