I have a vintage cannondale with a 24" rear wheel. I'm trying to determine the exact year. Can anyone help with this. ?Thanks.

Most likely 84 (first year of MTB) to 86 or 87 at latest. Fun fact, Cannondale made bass produced MTB first. Beat Klein to the punch.
