Something Mathematically Meaningful.
28/38/48 crankset provides a 26.0 - 89.2 gear inch range. 22/32/42 crankset provides a 20.4 - 78.0 gear inch range. Bottom line is the 28/38/48 crankset is better for recreational riders with a tailwind, or going down hill. Good on flat paved roads with no wind, And good for most hills. While the 22/32/42 will be better for steep gravel hills, Still provide good speed for flat paved roads on a windless day, But will not be as capable to take advantage of a tailwind, or when going down hill. |
