I have used a Sony NEX6 for years and it has worn out. Now waiting for the next iteration, the a6100, due out on Oct 25.

Sony RX100 series is small, has a real zoom lens, shoots raw. Not cheap but there are some good deals on used/demos around. The Sony 6000 series is a great camera if you want something on the larger side. I have an A6400 takes amazing pics.

I've been using a Fiji Film QX1 for years. Its 25mm lens is wide enough, its f/1.8 aperture is bright enough, its 12 frames per second in continuous shooting are fast enough, its 12 megapixels are still plenty even today, and it's capable of 1920x1080/60p video. And the battery is USB-rechargeable in-camera. Treat it like you would your cellphone anfd you're always in business.
