Perhaps @rmgelston can take some basic measurements of the frame.
  • Center of the crankset/bottom bracket up to the top of the top tube along the seat tube (or the top of the mast, but I like to stop at the top of the seat tube).
  • Center of the seat tube to the center of the head tube along the top tube.
  • Length of current stem.
  • Angle of current stem?
    .
  • Maybe more explanation of the OP's riding style and overall needs.
A side view photo of the bike would be nice, and perhaps a side view of the cyclist on the bike.

Overall... I think the answer is... yes, a larger frame (or larger bike) would be nice, but a lot depends on needs, and finances. I would vote for waiting 1 or 2 years then buy a "forever bike".
