Indirect connection, but fun fact: Edith Piaf and her lover Louis Gérardin (Piaf's letters to him are nsfw).

All the pictures of Philip Lynott on a bike are on pinterest and/or can't be copied, so here is a picture of his mother with his statue in Dublin. Appearently she just had this 1915 High Nelly restored. The man himself is photographed on a simular rod brake bike, but with a top tube and a child seat on the back.

For those who don't about Rita Hayworth when she wasn't riding, she could dance a bit!

Wait, how did this turn into "celebrities on bikes" instead of "rock stars on bikes"?

Because there are many sorts of celebrities, and many of them may be the opposite of rock star. Just saying.

I agree, many of the bicycling movie celebrities of the past who could sing or were filmed singing, are the opposite of rock stars when it comes to audio and visual appeal, and most definitely when it comes to glamour.

Ava Gardner could sing quite well, though the studio, for bizarre reasons only known to them, dubbed in someone else's voice for Ava's numbers in Showboat.

Audrey Hepburn sang "La Vie en Rose" in Sabrina.

Yoko Ono.

Sorry, I just had to.

It evolved--John Lennon on a bike begat Beatles on bikes, begat rock stars on bikes, begat Paul Newman, then jazz musicians on bikes, then Rita Hayworth, then lots of movie stars.

Just go with it! This is a great too wet/cold to bike thread.
