Stars on bikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone tell me or figure out what bike John Lennon is on in this picture? I honestly do not know.

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d2/55...20acee2c0a.jpg for a bigger picture.

This might be the same moment in time. The caption reads: "John Lennon & Yoko Ono - Parade, June 25th 1972 (via bohemea) From an article titled “The Americanization of John and Yoko” about John & Yoko’s fight to stay in New York." So that might help date it.

Dunno, but having worked a hot dog cart in Philly in '82 the prices caught my eye. $0.35 for a dog and $0.25 for a can of soda was the going rate in Philly at that time. The prices in NYC will kill you.

Not giving you a hard time but this is what I saw:

Okay ...what your saying is possible. I found that kissing photo and blew it up ....but it looks like it could say Bottecchia but it is super fuzzy and grainy so really hard to tell.

Now the thing is the head badge on the kissing photo looks like the logo forms two circles at the bottom. I do not see that on the Bottecchia badges slash logos I looked at . However, I can almost make out a B on the down tube but far from certain.

Here is the picture you mentioned:

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/18/06...12281841b0.jpg

I am going to give you a maybe. If you come up with a better resolution picture and you post it or more analysis then the jury will deliberate. For now the jury is still out eating pizza.

Okay now that you went back and added this much better resolution photo later...I just blew it up and I clearly see it.

SO KUDOS! IT IS DEFINITIVE.........IT IS INDEED A BOTTECCHIA..........YOU ARE THE ONE THAT SOLVED IT.......NICE. ......................your reward is a lint sculpture I made from my old unwashed socks.....if you choose to forgo that prize......then I formally declare you Genius of the Universe of Things That Have No Significance.....which is actually a meaningful title.

That picture I looked at before was lower resolution. They must have used a different logo on the head badge than the ones I saw...which is a common thing.

Now the last question is why did John pick this brand of bike and this must imply that he knew something about quality or whoever gave it to him did.....which also makes sense. He used to ride Raleigh bikes in earlier days. I wonder how often Bottecchia was imported to the U.S. in the early seventies. If he had gotten in an argument with Yoko he could have got away quick. No slight on her....I think they were deeply in love. If anyone starts posting pictures of Beatles on bikes.....I will be mad...very mad.....but I will like it.....so go ahead if you dare.....if you have the nerve.....I dare yah..........using a little reverse psychology to kick start this thread......and the more surreal the comments the better.

I think you are all wrong. If you zoom in a bit more, one can see it is a Trek. It is a known fact John was a Trek fanatic!

Here is a picture of John Lennon from those earlier days, as well as John and Yoko on a mystery bike. Maybe the Genius of the Universe of Things That Have No Significance will unleash his mastery of cryptic trivia and provide the answer of the provenance of this white bike.

I noticed only the drops on the bars are wrapped.

The white bike is obviously a ghost bike they are going to put on some street corner.

My dad ran a service station and I think our price was 25 cents for a can of soda back then. I remember candy bars were 25 cents around that time as well. We even had a cigarette machine in the office and they were 75 cents a pack.

Well, obviously looking at the name on the head tube, it's a Prouo. Must be some little-known Italian bike.

No idea what John is riding but whatever bike Yoko was riding probably went out of business after the company's board of directors suddenly all had creative differences with each other and refused to work together anymore.

Killer picture! John looks cool......and he is wearing rubber souls in preparation for his upcoming album of the name with the cool slighly delic shirt and the pretty cool bike....what kind......the master of all futile knowledge from the MIT state might provide the kernel of knowledge........the caption reads "The Beatles filming “Help!” in the Bahamas, 1965" Oh and the pink donut is making me want one.....in your personal id. ........sudden sugar tooth.
