About 5 yrs. ago I discovered that the gear that fit me perfectly is Assos. (God help me). So, all my kit is now hand washed and line dried.

Run my jerseys and shorts through the washer, but air dry them... Never thought about zipping the jerseys up before washing...

Machine wash, tumble dry, zippers open. No worn-out jerseys after 35 years. Maybe you line-dryers should dry jerseys inside-out, so only the insides fade.

You never heard of gaphics before? Pretty much the same as graphics but since they are the smaller printed images on a jersey, the just call them gaphics. :D

Man.
I read through this thread, hanging closer to the edge of my seat on each new post of zipper information.
Based upon this- I should NEVER ever open my zippers.
ANY zipper. for ANY reason!
Now- I have to go pee.

I would dread to think of you getting your chest hairs caught in your jersey zipper. That would be like Holy Crud, Batman.

Thank goodness I only have 3 hairs strands on my chest. Working on a mustache for 57 years, still no dice! :D

I think you should zip them up and turn them inside out before putting them in the washing machine. The inside usually is the dirtiest part, unless it was raining and muddy, being in contact with you, and probably needs the most washing. Zipping it keeps the zipper from getting caught and stressing the fabric or destroying other clothes in the washer.
