Knee high Soul Mates for me! It matches my vintage theme and is very comfy. Life is too short for matching socks.

To the original intent of this thread, the only bamboo I have ever used was a pillowcase - which was nice but I couldn't really tell the difference between it and another good quality pillow. As far as socks? Best ones ever I found on an Instagram account ( speed_maiden ) from a lady in CA who posted a link for purchasing them. I also prefer cycling specific socks from Defeet, Sock Guy, Pearl Izumi, and like companies. The fabric is sweat wicking, the design of the socks supports the foot and do not bunch up, they don't get soaking wet, and they come in an endless array of colors and designs. Way more comfortable than a generic sock from a department store. The fabric is also thinner, which for me is key since I also tend to use high end shoes that are a close fit. Bulky socks feel awful.

This clarification would have been much more helpful earlier in this thread. Now folks have gone off on all kinds of sock tangents.

OK - so could you share with us what you have heard about Bombas socks?

I think I saw a slick ad for them on TV but don’t really recall what dinstinguishes these socks compared with other brands. Are these the ones with a lot more sizes available by chance?

I was just wondering if they were worth the price

Bombas socks not Bamboo

That's what I thought. My wife really likes Bombas socks. Her Mom likes them too, and bought her some. Not sure if they're worth 12 bucks a pair to pay for.

For me, I use DeFeet socks. Aireater (summer) and Woolie Boolie (winter) specifically. And when I checked, they were 12 bucks a pair, too. Seems to be the going rate for trendy socks.

I have some Bombas, they're warm and comfortable, I did 8 hours on the bike with a pair in 30/40* weather and had no issues. Good winter sock, prob too warm for the summer (unless they have different styles, mine are black and blue wool, fairly thick after washing and they fluff up). For summer I'll stick to my low cut running socks, just because I have a bunch of them, and I don't see the need to buy tall socks just for cycling.

I have always had good luck with DeFeet socks. I keep thinking to try out other brands, but when it comes time to buy a new pair of socks, I forget all of the brands mentioned here and fall in to old habits/patterns.

Smart wool. They make a sock for every occasion, and they are all perfect.

Hard to tell. Bambo by OP but I'll have to try a pair. But no New Zealand Possum fur. Cold here this time of year.

I have never had any such problem. Maybe you got some bad ones.

I like atheluc socks , because they won't bunch up or wrinkle in your shoe and make pressure points like cotton or other fabric
