Newbie
I’m doing a tour of France over several stages. The first stage is from Caen to Nice . I am hoping to leave my bike in Nice for 7 days whilst I fly back to the UK because of work commitments . I will then be returning to Nice to pick my bike up and continue my trip on to Geneva . I will be staying in Nice for the last night of my 1st stage ( not sure wether I’ll be camping , hotel , Airbnb , or chambre dhôte yet ) .
Has anyone had experience of this and could anybody pass on tips of where I’d be most likely to be able to leave my bike ? I would be prepared to pay a fee . I hope

Drop it off for a tune up at a shop and tell them you'll be back in a week. Storage plus a tuneup, win-win

If you stay in a hotel at either end of your time away, you might possibly be able to convince them to keep it for you for that time.

+1 on talk to the hotels.
Couch Surfing?
Also many of the train stations used to have a short-term baggage check which is worth exploring.

Do this! Make an appointment and just get a basic tune up and just make sure they know when you need it back ready to roll. I have done this and its brilliant. I was a family vacation and I had my bike. We decided to take up an offer to do a boat extrusion activity that wasn't planned and I couldn't bring the bike. I found a local shop and did just this. I didn't even care if they did the tune up before I got back in 2 days, I just knew it was safe and locked up at the shop. I was up front with the shop, I said I would like the basic tune up and I am passing through and told them my situation. I said if they didn't get it done I would pay them for storage if need be. They wouldn't take a storage fee at all. They were super good about it.
In the end I got a tune up and safe storage and it worked out great! Bike shop got some business too. Win win.
