Riding in Rio

Heading to Rio de Janeiro in 10 days. Anyone know if I can rent a carbon fiber road bike there?

When I attended a few-day international meeting in Rio, 4 participants became victims of theft or robbery. When one went to report the crime to the police he was promptly arrested there and the meeting organizers had to pay bribe, I believe 1k$, to get him out. A friend living in Rio for decades finally decided to move out after his daughter came to visit, parked a car in front of his house and became a victim of carjacking there. He himself was a victim of robbery 5 times in that last year. You can presumably get by when you are very attune to the situation around you, but coming from outside and fetching a carbon bike you would be seriously taunting the fate.
