Havent seen em in years. I had to switch to Sidi's in their mega width, as the allure of the Carnacs was always the wider fit

I don't know. They made very good shoes that were pretty durable. How long has it been since you bought a pair? I had a pair of Time shoes that were made for them by Carnac years ago. So well made, but they didn't fit me all that well. I think that they are still around my place somewhere. Hope they are still around, but they may have been too good to survive

Unless I am mistaken, Carnac went out of business a long time ago. Shortage of kangaroos was the reason.

To be a bit more responsive, I believe that Carnac shoes were proudly hand-made in France "one pair at a time". For this reason, I suspect that they folded due to economic non-viability. They sounded like great shoes for cyclists. Not so much for kangaroos, though.

They were. That's all I rode in the 90s. The LeMond model had laces and flap over top that secured with Velcro. You could really dial in the fit. I was told that Greg demanded laces in return for the use of his name. Between '99 and '00 I did about 10,000 miles of unsupported touring in a pair of their MTB shoes.

Plenty of used ones on Ebay, at low low prices. What's your size?

I bought a pair of gently used ones a few years back along with a set of Time pedals. They were comfortably...heavy.

Still got them. Size 44, if you're interested. Pedals too.

I had a top of the line pair of Carnac shoes back in 1994. They were the ones with the neoprene type foot liner. One fateful day racing in PA it started to rain and I got caught up in a crash and slid off the road into a deep puddle. By this time the shoes had gotten so waterlogged that they weighed approximately 40 pounds each. The weight was so great that I was pulled under and almost drowned and only a passing tow truck with a power winch was able to save me.

OK. I admit I'm exaggerating. They didn't use the winch.
