Help for finding best frame size
 

Hi I'm pretty new to the biking scene and I finally got the money for buying a good bike for starting but I couldn't find the that fits my body yet because of my body's shape I'm 170cm in height but my legs are long like 87.5cm is 52cm frame enough? or I should find a bigger one? can you guys please help me? and sorry for grammar mistakes

Road bike then 54 cm.

When you know the brand your are thinking about, go to their website and look at sizing recommendations for their bikes. This will give you ballpark figures.

34.4" inseam at your height. That's very unusual. Leaning towards custom frame territory.

Assuming your saddle height would be around 76cm+, you'd probably be looking at a frame with a 50-51cm Effective Top Tube, but with a pretty long seat tube and decent head tube.

I've seen the odd old custom Serotta frameset out there with proportions like that, for example.

What kind of bike style are you looking at? (road / endurance / gravel / flatbar etc.)

I found a woman's bike actually 52 cm giant liv Envie advanced pro 1 2017 it's in really good condition I think I'm gonna give it a try cause woman's body proportions is quite like mine and my concerns is about the distance between tube and saddle when I lean forward

actually I don't want to buy a brand new bike cause its too expensive in Turkey and you can buy second-hand carbon and the better group set bikes for that price as I said in the previous reply I found a Giant/Liv Envie Advanced Pro 1 for a really good price and condition I think I'm gonna give it a try but much thanks for the reply cheers

My inseam is 82.7 cm and a 54-55 frame is perfect for me.

According to the LeMond formula that I use a 58 cm frame would be right. I would agree with others who say a custom frame is what you probably need. I am 5'9" with a 32.25" inseam.

You misunderstood what I as trying to say or I certainly didn't explain it well enough.

Now that you know the bike go to the Giant website and look at that bike. On the page on the right hand side, there is a link to "What is my size". click that and look at your height on the left side and your leg length along the top and see what size Giant recommends.

In order to do this, you need to know the inside measurement of your leg, essentially from your crotch to the floor. The 87 cm you gave is most likely not the right measurement. To me your in between sizes but if I guess your inseam measurement you would be on a small according to the Giant website. Which really is a 53 cm.

A 170 cm is 5'5" tall. I'm 6'2" and my inseam is 34". I'm riding a 59cm bike. I would definitely visit a nearby bike shop to get a quick fit

5' 5" is 66.9291 inches. So closer to 5'7" and there is no hope in the world they has an inseam of 34.44882". Unless they is a freak of nature. I agree that a visit to a bikes store in in order but I am also uncomfortable in recommending a service when you have no intentions to purchase.

As I read it now, they is not really asking what size of bike they are, they really want to know if the Giant/Liv Envie Advanced Pro 1 they found for sale used will fit. The question should have really been "I found a size small in Giant/Liv Envie Advanced Pro 1 and I am X height, will this bike fit"?

if you really are 170cm with 34.4" inseam, that size bike will be too long for you. Reach is 378mm.

At least the top tube is fairly horizontal which is good to have for your proportions.

I'm 5'9.5"/34" and like a reach around 360mm. Arms are a little short though.

Back around 2017/18 when I was hunting for road bike frames which fit half decently, after a long search I found the Eddy Merckx Milano 72 women's bike had the best proportions for a production frame/bike. They did slightly adjust the frame geometry between a couple of years also (one year's bike fit best).
