These sounded like exactly what I'd been looking for a bicycle of mine that no longer has clearance for a fender on the front.. So I looked into it and it appears that the River City Reach-around brackets comes with two brackets for the back but only one for the front. What if you want use both halves of the front fender? Buy two sets of these brackets (at $22 each)?

The front only needs one. You cut the fender just in front of the factory bracket to back goes on as usual. I haven't used the River City ones. I've made my own. But they look a lot nicer than mine, look clean and well done and I have heard nothing but good about them. (River City is a local bike shop and rock solid. Many of the employees and the owner ride Portland's weather.)

Ah, of course. Thank you for the initial info as well as the reply. My 1999 Trek 520 might be seeing light at the end of the tunnel.
