Bike insurance

For two years, I was planning to gift a bike for my boyfriend. He is very crazy about motorcycles. But I was having financial issues. Now I think its time to buy one and also his birthday is coming. So I am planning to surprise him. Me and one of my friend went to check for the bikes. I took him because I dont know much about bikes. I like one among them, and my friend enquired about all the technicalities of the bike. And we decided to buy that model. It was also within my budget. While discussing the price, they also talked about auto insurance plans. I dont know whether there are plans at a much lower rate, or is it right to accept their insurance plan. Please help me here.

Motorcycles? I'm a Ducati guy since 1997. Before that, BMW with lots of years of Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha, etc. A motorcycle buddy is also an insurance agent and he put me with Dairyland. No claims or service issues yet but the rates are good. What kind of bike did you buy?

This is a bicycle forum. Not a motorcycle forum. Just pointing that out. That was a very nice birthday present though!

Hey Bruce,
Not yet bought, but we are planning for Yamaha MT-03. I am stuck with deciding on an insurance broker. I consulted Cluett insurance too. May I know at what rate Dairyland provides you with the insurance?

Just out of curiosity, where are you located? I'm in CT. I have to search out the premium info for you. My current Ducati is a 2001 Monster S4. I bought it a couple years ago for only $3400. It only had 5K miles and was in perfect shape with nice mods done by the previous owner. Here's a pic.I'll get back to you with that info.

Hey guys, this is a bicycling forum not a motorcycling forum. Take it to PMs.

Thread closed.
