Traditionally (and culturally) that is usually the case but there's nothing to prevent a guy from riding one, or a woman from riding a diamond frame for that matter. As I said before, I have a men's Sports for now and a ladies' Sports for the time when I'll be too old/feeble/crotchety to ride the diamond frame.

I fixed up a 1974 earlier this year. It was a fun project. After rebuilding the bike it looked great. I just sold it a few days ago to a woman who was blown away by the way it rides. It really did ride very well after some elbow grease.

I had a Raleigh Record when I was a kid. Gray. Back in the 1970's. Nicest thing my dad every bought me other than a set of Slingerland drums. Unfortunately I also was somewhat stupid back then. I rode it to work at a diner one day, locked it to a tall post that blocked vehicles from hitting a dumpster fence. I think someone came in a truck and was able to lift it off the post, which had to be 10 feet high if not higher. Oh well. Live and learn. But I loved that bike. I'm much more careful now. Can't find any pics that are a good representation of that bike.

Ride on! All power to you, my friend. Anything that gets more people on a bike I'm in for. Best!
