What’s Wrong with This Picture?
Besides the obvious issue of riding a damp clay singletrack on 32mm slicks, what else is wrong with this bike?
Let’s see; flat pedals, downtube friction shifters, and who the heck still uses a SoftRide stem?
Less obvious are the 6-speed freewheel, 27” rims, and “gasp” aluminum frame!
Who else has a favorite bike that’s totally ‘wrong’ by the BF rules?

Biggest thing wrong with that picture is that the owner is sitting off the path, posting to bikeforums, instead of riding that bike down that trail.

Valve stems not at 6 o'clock. Lettering on tyres not in position with valve stems. Really doesn't matter much to me, though. Questions is, how does it ride?

The bike is fine but the rider is not a cyclist.

Saddle color doesn't match bar grip/tape. Brake color doesn't match drivetrain. But points for pedals matching water bottle, and brakes matching stem. So that's a wash.

The bike is too old to be in general discussion. Obviously, it belongs in C&V. And where is the frame pump, please?
Also, is that a Sun Tour derailleur and matching shifters? Nice!!!!

I have my bike with me on vacation, so I went for a ride on an MUP, that, after a couple water crossings, turned into a blaze- marked single track. After a half mile or so, I realized I very much was on the wrong bike. Fun to get out of the comfort zone, though

Yes, it is: a Suntour V-GT. Shimano levers, though. And a mini pump behind the water bottle mount. I’m a heretic that way.

"horizontal"? Crank arms are supposed to be vertical.
Huh? The picture shows that they are actually perfectly aligned.
Might still be carbon fiber though... It is well known that crabon fibre explodes if exposed to sunlight.

Wide flange... really
FD is too far above the large chainring.
Dustcap missing from crank bolt.

I would enjoy riding the bike.
I have converted my 1983 Waterford Paramount Road bike similarly but have Thumb Shifters.
Back in the 1970's Crankarms aligned with seat tube.
Front tire label not centered with valve stem and as mentioned valves should be at 6 o'clock.
Carbon Fiber assplodes.

Did a cow die for that saddle?
On the plus side, the pedals and bottle are close to being color-coordinated.
