Help with Alfine Dynamo

The info I find on setting these up is all over the map. I did find the wire and a connector but all the devices seem to be very expensive. 180.00 lights etc. if thatís the case Iíll go usb. I was really hoping to ha e USB charging to a battery pack. Everything looks to be 6 watts but I thought an alfine is 3. Iíve googled this to no end. Ugh.

So what specific help are you looking for? I didn't see a question in your post.

i just noticed that, and I apologize. I Found a less cost prohibitive light at my LBS that is pre wired. Iím now on the hunt for a USB charger. I think I found one on Amazon.

Buy anything to do with dynamo hubs out of Germany. They are way cheaper and have a much bigger range. There are good AXA headlights available for as little as $15. You'll get a great headlight for $60. https://www.bike-components.de/en/ac...sort=price_asc Flat rate shipping will be more expensive than the lights, so take the chance to load up on spare tires chains or whatever. Wippermann Connex chains are awesome, made in Germany quality.

Here's a site that may help with selecting a dynamo USB charger: https://www.cyclingabout.com/list-of...r-usb-devices/

If you are looking for something good that can light up and charge the Busch and MŁller Luxos U is a great option. I think it is now 90 lux which is very bright and being a German brand it is of high quality with a good beam pattern. It isn't a cheap light but good lights generally aren't cheap and this one also has USB charging.

Peter White sells it and is super knowledgeable about dynamos and all of that, I learned a lot from him:

I wouldn't recommend low lumen or lux lights the idea is being seen and also allowing you to see so something nice and bright with a good beam pattern is always important. My two current dynamo set ups weren't super cheap but they are really nice and I probably wouldn't change a thing unless redoing the set up on my touring bike (because running the Sinewave Reactor wires was a pain) but for that I would just go to the Luxos U or Sinewave Beacon (which is MUSA)

Dynamos are awesome but the cheap stuff is not a ton different than the cheaper battery and USB lights aside from not having to charge or replace batteries and sometimes being rather large and not as sexy.

B&M IQ Premium Cyo is a great light in my experience, about $100-110.
