650b 42mm tubeless slicks

I'm doing first bike build and my bike has 42mm clearance for fenders. What are everyone's favorite 42mm slicks? Seems like there are a lot of happy customers for the GKs. Any other options out there? Rene Herse is just a bit out of my price range :(

GKs are such a solid good value line.

If you want something heavier and more expensive and not tubeless, there are Soma Grand Randonneur tires:

I'd go with the GKs. Look on ebay for the best deals.

Thanks for the rec. I really want to try tubular as I expect my riding to be 70/30 road to gravel.

I think you mean tubeless.

Pari-Motos are good too, but a little less durable than GKs. Rene Herse are expensive as hell and I haven’t had great luck with them- just putting that out there because there’s a lot of hype around them but I think other brands are a better value.

Yeah you're right. I'm just catching up with all the new lingo. I meant tubeless

I went to 650b and used Compass/Rene Herse, 42mm on the rear and 38 on the front. Went with tubes rather than tubeless. I had one slow-leak puncture in 2K miles. They ride very nicely, but they are costly.

I'd be happy to try a less-expensive tire next time around. But which?

Honestly, the WTB Horizon rides as well as the Switchback Hill endurance casing, if you can fit it. For 42s try the Pari-Moto.
