Is there a point to mid-depth carbon rims for 32c road tires?
Curious about this as I’m shopping around for a wheel set. Would love to get some 40-50mm deep carbon wheels but it seems as though to run 32c tires you roughly need something like a 26 internal / 34 external to get any of the aero benefits and finding that size is limiting to say the least.
Is there any benefit at all to mid-depth carbon wheels when running a 32c tire if you’re only using something like a 21 internal / 28 external or a 24 internal / 30 external rim?

They look good and are still slightly more aerodynamic than shallow wheels.
Of course, if aerodynamics are high on your list of priorities, then narrower tires with a slightly wider rim compared to the tire is ideal. Hence TT and Triathlon bikes often use 23c in front
