Wahoo Elemnt Roam with Garmin Varia

Does anyone have any input on the Wahoo Elemnt Roam? I have a Garmon Varia radar and light combo and I'd like to know if the Roam is compatible. I crashed with the Bolt and put it out of commission. I like the Roam for the larger screen and more direction and routing options and I can upload to Strava, which I'm sure everyone knows already.

Any input is appreciated.

Works great. I have both. The roam adds color to the radar field. Green-safe, orange-danger, red-really fast danger.

Another Roam/Varia Radar user here. I love them. The color screen with the radar is very cool. And yes, they work together seamlessly.

Thanks, I've also heard the display on the Roam is not as bright as the Bolt. I know the brightness and the volume are not adjustable according to Wahoo. Do you have an issue with the backlight. It seems I can barely see the numbers even in sunlight

I keep the backlight on at all times and don't have a problem with it. I haven't noticed any difference between it and the Bolt regarding visibility. I wasn't happy with the auto backlight setting as it didn't illuminate when I went through tunnels. The duration might have been too fast for it to switch on the illumination.

I'll try mine side by side and see. I think I would have noticed it if they were that different. I have no issues with mine in daylight with the backlight off. I switched it to always on for tunnels and dusk riding.

Roam and Varia for a year, also have an older Elemnt (now used by my wife). The color display on the Roam is much better for use with the Varia. Loving both.

So, I did a side-by-side comparison with my Bolt and Roam and confirmed your results. Major difference in brightness between the two.
