Do you carry a spare pontoon in case of a flat?

Team Topsider for the win! Seriously though, I would MUCH rather do that than sit on a trainer in a musty basement watching old NBC Tour de France tapes with John Tesh narrating.

Come springtime I will have installed fishing rod holders on each pontoon so I can troll with artificial minnows with hooks. That way I can say I got something out of my workout. Two fish for dinner ! BTW , no kayaker has EVER been able to run me down. I can drop em like kids on tricycles. Other great thing, no potholes, curbs, crazy drivers .... only have to open your eyes every couple of minutes to check for your course direction. The time trial bars made a HUGE difference in my butt endurance as they take 50-60 pounds pressure off the
sensitive areas. Also added .03 mph due to reduction of parasitic aero drag...

It's like i always say, give a man a fish and he will have food for a day. But teach him to ride a bicycle powered boat with two fishing poles baited with artificial minnows, he'll have enough ridicule to last him a lifetime.

My brother's in-laws live on a lake and had one when we visited once. It may have been a neighbor's. Pretty fun but kind of frustrating because it always felt like pedaling on ice.

Do you mean because when standing still you can start pedaling and the prop starts spinning before you get going ? I never had that thought.
I changed the sprocket to a smaller size to increase the cadence. The thought I have repeatedly is that it reminds me of being in a gym on a spin bike
taking a spin class.. I think because it is such a smooth steady spin.

When you decide to pedal a bike "harder" you get an immediate response but on the bike boat thing I was on so long ago it was like driving a low horsepower car. Fun way to put around on the lake, nonetheless.

I know it looks like a toy or gadget but take off down the lake and you are liable to find yourself 10 or 12 miles down the lake after an hour or two.

Then you have to turn around and get home. Sound familiar ? Did you notice the small orange strobe lite on the back ? From the top of public service
vehicle for riding at night.on the water. Put it low and behind me out of my vision so it would not give me seizures........ Certainly a very unique cycling experience.

For anyone that has a genuine interest in this bike-boat contraption.... you might like to know that picture was taken during a full tilt sprint past the person with the camera.
There are some subtle clues... at the rear of both pontoons, there is a grab rope tied connecting the two... It is what I haul it out of the water into my pickup truck with.
Well in the photo you can see that that rope being drug through the water is kicking up some mini white cap. Also at the rear of the mast is a little water turbulence.
Additionally, notice the swell.or wave coming off the nose of the pontoon and the water level along the side of the pontoon where the level water line is marked black....
The speed I think is 8 to 10 mph....... similar to a slightly aggressive jogging speed. Maybe this is way off topic but I thought it is cycle related because of parts used.
