So where are you on the scale of 0 to 10? Zero being a total Fred, and 10 being a total Snob?
I put myself at about a 4.

I was going to say a 2, but I didn't post this question. So that makes me about a 9. Then I responded, so that takes me down to a 1.

If one is all about function and apathetic towards fashion, I'm closer to 1 than 10.

I'm very particular about any bike that I ride. Very particular, so much so that if the bike doesn't absolutely thrill me when I ride it, then I sell it. At my age and with my experience, my tastes are um... more discerning. But it's all about the ride experience, not the appearances.
As for what someone else rides or chooses, I could care less. I fix a ton of lesser bikes for their happy owners. They're happy, I'm happy.
Whether the OP only rides recumbent bikes, well, I'll simply chalk that up to age and infirmity. I'm still rocking diamond frames...until the day comes when I cannot any longer. We'll burn that bridge when we get there.

Mr Bent, is this what we think our score should be, what others think our score should be or what we think others think our score should be?

Most people on this forum don't recognize there are no decent bikes that cost less than $10k.
I'd say I'm a 2.
(On edit: Oops, Nigel says $11k.)

My wife has explicit instructions: the day I come home with a recumbent, she is to kill me, return the 'bent for a refund, and move on with her life. She deserves better than that.
