Cadence matching music

Do you know of a site with music titles sorted by the frequency of their major beat? I'd like to create a mix that matches my preferred cadence.

It's called tempo. Also, it doesn't matter if it's major, minor (natural, harmonic or melodic), modal or 12-tone, among others, for that matter.

there’s an app called Rock My Run - presumably available on the App Store - that will do exactly that. Search by musical genre and BPM range. AFAIK there’s a limited range of music available free, subscription for a wider range

Thanks, but I'm phoneless, and outraged at the notion of paying for a simple list.

I do it on my own, pick the songs based on the route I am going to do and then if I need to do any climbing, I have a basic idea at what time I am going to hit that area, I will position those songs in an order so it will be in playing to help me along. I can do that on my ipod shuffle using itunes or create a list in my phone and just position as needed. I store my music on a memory card on my phone and all free of charge

Google something like "song by tempo" for songbybpm and similar sites that compile lists of songs by tempo. Around 10-12 years ago when I did this there were only a couple of sites but now there are several that do the same thing.

After that, you can manually assemble a mixtape to suit whatever device you have for rides or indoor trainer sessions.

If you really want to hear specific songs it's easy to adjust the tempo (within reason) and maintain the familiar pitch. There are several programs for PCs and Macs, apps for mobile devices. Last time I did this I used my old copy of Cool Edit Pro.

Google "songs at 90 bpm" (or whatever your preferred cadence is) and you'll find dozens of pages that have sorted songs by BPM.
Here's one that lets you enter whatever BPM you want and it finds songs for you:

If you are phoneless, how are you going to use your list? Not that it can't be done, just curious.

Thanks for the useful replies. I should be able to select the most suitable tunes from my collection for a good playlist of MP3s.

Is that for home trainer sessions? On the road you usually want to listen for traffic that may come by. Friend of mine has those noise cancelling earphones and he claims he can't hear me when talking to him, I am just not sure if that's really so.

I don't listen to music when on bike but I'd think any rock music of your taste, that rocks your boat, should do, regardless of beat.

I sewed a quick dry cloth into a pocket and into the helmet straps to hold bluetooth headphone speakers. The speaker only rests lightly over the earlobes with nothing to surround the ear....This way, you can hear the traffic 100% and still listen to music Of course, how much of the traffic you hear still depends on the volume of the music. Also the mod may look goofy with cycling helmet. I use skater's helmet and the mod made it look like a military helmet.

It took 15 posts before a headphone nanny showed up? Man, that must be some kind of BF record. Usually one pipes up before post 5.

When I was young I had a coach who used to have me ride rollers to a metronome. There are digital ones now, you can DL it to you phone or tablet and use headphones.
