A little good news

There is a little good news among all the bad. Three of the 4 months of really cold weather this winter has passed. There are only 39 days till spring. As you can see, after the brutal weather this weekend, I am counting the days.

It is only going to get up to 0 here Sat. Sure could use some of the global warming some people talk about all the time.

Well, here it is still kind of summer like so I have been riding quite a bit. Even for Southern California this has been an unusual year, no rain and mostly sunny days. Its all good man! ( breaking bad) I guess I won't get away with complaining here, that sounds brutal.

I remember about this time of year someone told me it would be spring soon. We don't typically get shorts weather here until early May, and that year wasn't an exception. I think that might have been the year we got 12 inches of snow in April.

I was down at the HB Pier on Monday (President's Day) and it wasn't that good - choppy surface and the waves were peaky, but it was a nice day for a 20-mile ride. . I don't think its been a great year for surf here in So Cal, but not a bad year either, just average. NorCal is different, so no comments on that area.

FWIW: There's always some die-hard surfer folks in the water around the Huntington Beach Pier. It would have to be 'flat' or some really really big, and really really badly shaped and dangerous waves for no one to be out there.
