Titanium Single speed fat bikes. Mars has minimal atmosphere and no roads. Most of the surface is dust and rock. Use a dry lube, so the hematite prevalent all over the planet doesn't chew up the chain.

It'd be a fat-tire e-mountain bike. Aside from the ridiculously cold temperatures, you'd need one heck of a gratuitously designed CO2/O2 scrubber for your environmental suit. Extra respiration would be an engineering problem.
Though I can imagine pure O2 athlete performance, & low gravity combined with low atmospheric pressure would lead to some interesting velodrome results.

Obviously I've never done it, or even seen it. It sounds like riding on Mars is only slightly safer than riding on Earth. I assume you use around 3 inch bombproof tires, but it would seem to me the tires/bike would still take a beating. And would humans do it for ... fun?

Obviously, whatever they decide to bring, they should bring two of them. So the astronauts would have someone to wave at.

Although a breathing apparatus will be required, I wonder if human skin (with some protective layering) can adapt to the Martian atmosphere over generations and maybe genetic programming. With no ozone layer and Megnetosphere on Mars, UV and other radiation might still require some thick spandex and merino wool layers regardless

Whatever they do, they shouldn't allow more than one vehicle, whether with motor or not. For certain if there are two vehicles they will run into each other soon enough.

A full suspension recumbent is more likely to be on mars.
any error with autonomous vehicles is still a liability to who owns the vehicle. You don't get to take naps while being shuttled to work in your AI vessel. You're insurance rates will not become vastly cheaper. All it's enabling are those that are distracted normally while driving is to become even less assertive.
